About C&T

C&T Youth Technology Academy is a non-profit youth learning center focused on technology-based coursework not found within the traditional education system. Through specialized classes and innovative lessons, students build on the foundations of education and practical life skills to prepare for college and beyond. In addition to computer skills, math, writing and global education, students build confidence, maturity and education to achieve academic and social success.

Our Mission

C & T Youth Technology Academy strives to educate students beyond the basic educational standards, to empower students to reach beyond the minimum expected of them, and to enrich their education through life experience, travel and an understanding of the global community. Through these initiatives, students achieve intellectual growth, responsibility in roles of leadership, and a lifelong practice of giving back to community.

History of C&T

C&T Youth Technology Academy began in 2005 as a small, after-school class to teach elementary and middle school students lessons in computer language, programming and web design. The family-operated classes offered what other private learning centers did not, the opportunity for students to practice real-world skills to complement a standard education. Classes quickly grew, and the family of administrators recognized an interest from parents to build a private youth learning center offering a wide range of study, from creative writing to math to community service and life-skills learning.

C & T answered the call, and in 2008 instituted an English Writing program to assist elementary and middle school students in building confidence and skills necessary for language writing. The Caring Heart program, managed mainly by students, began in 2008 as well, empowering students of C & T to raise money to assist underprivileged school children in China.

In early 2009, C & T expanded their curriculum, introducing a Chinese language program for students of all ages and, in summer 2009, will institute a Math program. All programs are taught by professional educators who bring a unique perspective to the classroom. Classes reach beyond basic academics and encourage students to take ownership of their education and success.

C & T recognizes community leadership as an invaluable tool in the education process, and in summer of 2009 will launch the Young American Abroad program. This travel/study summer program partners with Aixin Foundation, and Building Bridges Program of Yale University . American high school students will have the opportunity to travel and interact with students from Yale University and callege students from China, and building travel into rural areas of China to teach, learn and become part of a global community. This valuable life experience will prepare them for college life and the world beyond.

C & T values education through experience, independence, student ownership and responsibility. In addition to helping students improve their academic education, C & T prepares students to better serve their community and country as community-oriented, responsible, successful adults.
